Watched Kyrah Gray at a comedy club in Brixton last month. Mate got us tickets last minute. Wasn’t expecting much – just a Friday night out with a few laughs.
She absolutely smashed it. The room was packed, everyone crying with laughter. Afterwards, my friend goes, “Reckon we’ll see her on telly soon.” Turns out she’s already been on telly loads.

Started Comedy At University
Kyrah Gray’s from South London. Attended the University of Kent and graduated with a degree in Drama and Theatre Arts. Began performing stand-up in 2019 while in her final year at uni.
The majority of students in their final year are worrying about dissertations and job applications. Kyrah was going up there, making complete strangers laugh. That takes proper guts.
Kyrah Gray age is 27, born on 13 April 1998. She went to university around 2016-17. Within six years of beginning comedy, she has won huge awards and written for massive TV shows.
Won Best Debut Show This Year
In March 2025, Kyrah Gray won Best Debut Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival Awards for her “Work in Progress” hour. That’s huge.
Leicester Comedy Festival is one of the biggest comedy events in the UK. Over 23,880 tickets were sold this year. Winning Best Debut Show puts you on the map properly.
She’d already done the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023 as part of Pleasance Reserve. That’s another major comedy milestone. Edinburgh’s the place careers are made or destroyed.
Before that, she’d been nominated for loads – Chortle Awards Best Newcomer in 2024, Sean Lock Comedy Award finalist in 2023, BBC New Comedy Award in 2023, and Funny Women Awards in 2022.

While building her stand-up career, Kyrah Gray’s also been writing for television.

The TV Appearances Keep Coming
Kyrah Gray performed on Comedy Central Live. Did Mo Gilligan’s Black British Takeover at the O2. That’s 20,000 people watching you be funny. No pressure then.
She’s been on BBC 1Xtra’s Comedy Gala. Did bits for Comedy Central’s Dating Horror Stories in 2024. Appeared in a show called Danielle Does Life that came out this year.
In May 2025, Sky ordered her dating show “Gagging For It“, where she helps funny people find love. Launches on Sky TV’s YouTube channel. That’s her own show, not just her appearing on someone else’s.
When I saw her in Brixton, she mentioned the Sky show briefly. Didn’t make a massive deal about it, just casually dropped it in whilst talking about her week. That’s quite something.

Kyrah Gray has over 62,000 followers on TikTok (@itskyrahgray). Posts clips from her stand-up sets. Loads of them hit over a million views.
My sister follows her. Said Kyrah’s content feels authentic, not like she’s trying too hard to go viral. Just good comedy that happens to work on social media too.

She’s Dating Another Comedian
The rumoured Kyrah Gray boyfriend is Axel Blake, who’s also a comedian. He won Britain’s Got Talent in 2022, so he’s established.
They post funny relationship skits together on social media. Seems quite wholesome actually. Two comedians dating sounds either brilliant or terrible; it probably depends on the day.

In June 2025, Kyrah Gray appeared at the Union Chapel in London as part of their “No Direction Home” event for Refugee Week. And that’s a fundraiser for community projects in Sudan, Congo and Ethiopia.

My Honest Take
When I first heard about her, I said, “Who is Kyrah Gray?” However, after seeing Kyrah Gray live in Brixton, I’ve been following her career. She’s got something special that you can’t really teach – that natural stage presence and ability to make a room full of strangers feel like they’re your mates.
The fact she won Best Debut Show in 2025 makes sense. The TV writing work makes sense. The Sky show makes sense. It’s all building toward something bigger.
If you get a chance to see her live, go. Before she’s too big for small venues and ticket prices triple.
That’s what’s happening with Kyrah Gray right now. She’s on that upward path where every six months brings something bigger. It won’t be long before everyone knows her name.
